AIB’s mission

AIB’s mission is to protect the engine that drives innovation that allows the provision by its members of seed products that the market desires. To protect the breeder’s rights on vegetable seeds, AIB assists its members to prevent piracy and to pursue seed piracy cases.

In doing this AIB helps to maintain the integrity of the plant breeders IP protection process in fairness to the tens of thousands of growers who are using protected seeds and who abide by respecting the breeders rights, trademarks and copyrights. The majority of growers want a level playing field and oppose unfair competition by acts of piracy by others. In carrying out its mission AIB maintains close links with international and national enforcement agencies.
